Mandy's Lullabye

Mandy's Lullabye - N-Track    Mandy's Lullabye - Tape

This song was written for my daughter Amanda when she was 3 or 4 (1980). Drawn from the impressions of this then young father and colored with the amazement at this little person's view of the world. Taken from one day, from waking to sleep.

There are actually 2 versions of this song available for download. The first was recorded in the early 80's using a 4 track Docoder Reel to Reel. The only other equipment used was Fender Strat Guitar, a combination reverb and graphic equalizer unit, plugged directly into the Docoder! It was then mixed down to stereo cassette and eventually recorded into the computer.

The second version was recently recorded straight into my computer using N-Track mixing software. This time I used a Fender Telecaster and an Ovation acoustic. Both were jacked straight into the soundcard. Using N-Track, I layed down 6 tracks, applied reverb, phasing and echo and then mixed down to a wave file. Both were run through WinAmp with the graphic equalizer set to filter 300hz (mud) and converted to wma format.
